Happy Birthday: Lisa Kudrow

Today is the 30th of July and Friends star Lisa Kudrow's 46th birthday, happy birthday!!
Lisa plays the character Phoebe Buffay on the hit American sitcom Friends. Phoebe comes from a rough background where after her mum commits suicide and she has to live on the streets, she is straightforward and unusually frank and has a great many shocking stories from her past which makes her so perfectly quotable.

For some reason I always loved Phoebe more than Monica or Rachel. She always made me laugh more with her ridiculous outbursts and her plan laugh (of which she is the master), and her wonderful music such as Smelly Cat, and the cow in the meadow goes moo...
The cow in the meadow goes moo,
The cow in the meadow goes moo,
And then the farmer hits him over the head and grinds him up and that's how we get hamburgers!
A real classic! Enjoy your 46th birthday Lisa!

Celebrity Obsession: Lacey Chabert

It may just be my personal taste but I think Lacey Chabert (pronounced SHA/BEAR) is one of the most gorgeous, beautiful women alive, and after seeing Mean Girls again in the last Drama lesson of the year I feel my obsession with her has returned. Whether it's her deep brown eyes, her curly brunette hair or overly pretty smile I pretty much love everything about Lacey. Apart from having stared in slasher film Black Christmas were she gets stabbed by a pair of gardening shears (a film I wont be watching anytime soon). She plays her part of Gretchen Wieners so well in MG that you can't help but adore her (or I can't anyway).

I always thought Lacey was prettier than Rachel McAdams in the film and just in general. But after researching Rachel a bit more she is definitely on a par with miss Chabert! I expect they'll be a CO post about Rachel to in the near future. Apparently Lacey gets credited as Esmeralda Belle Jane of which she has no clue why, maybe someone misread it I mean they do look so similar.

She would be perfect for Gossip Girl along with her Mean Girls team, except Lindsay Lohan who was too nice. Amanda Seyfried could play a sligtly brighter character as well and I think Rachel should keep her black hair it suits her better I think. You never know, one day maybe, I mean they cast Hillary Duff didn't they (not that that's a bad thing, nothing against Hillary)?

The News on Georgina.

Michelle trachtenberg.

You may already know this already but it's now official that Michelle Trachtenberg will not be joining the main cast of Gossip Girl :( (for the time being hopefully). Instead she will be staring as a lead role on the NBC show Mercy about three nurses where she plays a rookie one. It is currently unknown what the reason for leaving the Upper East Side is but I feel it may have something to do with Poppy Lifton, the socialite/fraudster who you would think wouldn't need anymore money really. Georgie ended the second season by phoning up Dan and telling him his money is back and he can go to Yale. Dan tells her that he's already applied to NYU to which she replies...

"Good, I'll see you next year then"

And hangs up, she is last seen requesting Blair as a roommate. A prospect I'm sure B'll be thrilled about! :D Can't Wait to see G next season!

Michelle Trachtenberg as she appears in new NBC show Mercy.

Happy Birthday: Taylor Momsen

Today marks the 16th birthday celebration of teen star, model and aspiring rocker Taylor Momsen who plays Jenny Humphrey on the hit CW T.V show.
Jenny left season 2 as Queen Bee of Constance Billard and the social scene. We think she should have learnt her lesson from season 1 when Blair outed her boyfriend, quickly dethroning her in the process.
Will Jenny be running for bitch of the year again or will she finally brake the cycle of the monarchy once and for all.
The era of "Little J" is over and so thank God is that hair, I'm now hoping for a full recovery. But only time will tell. Good luck in season 3 J, i'm just wondering if the other girls will follow her.
Happy birthday Taylor, enjoy your sweet sixteenth!

Celebrity Obsession: Michelle Pfeiffer

After finally watching the film Stardust on Youtube of all places I can die a fulfilled life. The film does and should always live up to its hype as it was brilliant and the character I liked most of all was the main witch Lamia played by if I do say so myself the stunning Michelle Pfeiffer, she's 51 years old and I can safely say that she does not look that age at all, about 29/30 in my opinion. well when she was young anyway not when she was in old witch mode.

Young Lamia!

Old Lamia, Creepy!

I have always thought the villains were more interesting than the heroes and my ideology continues here as well. The only complaint is that she didn't kill the prince in the inn in a more satisfying way (in a more witchy way that is, rather than gory/unpleasant, not a fan of splatter at all or horror for that matter but anyway). Despite the fact that vampires have always been my most loved form of monster, from the one Charmed episode and many Buffy ones, the way they portrayed the witches was great and I just loved the magic effects especially with the voodoo doll and the fighting dead body of Septimus was impressive and slightly ridiculous at the same time.

What does Michelle have to say about life?

About being afraid:

“I'm afraid to be alone, I'm afraid not to be alone. I'm afraid of what I am, what I'm not, what I might become, what I might never become. I don't want to stay at my job for the rest of my life, but I'm afraid to leave. And I'm just tired, you know? I'm just so tired of being afraid.”

About being optimistic:

“Somewhere along the line I made the switch and was able to look at the bight side rather than the dark side all the time. Now I look at everything I have and think how lucky I am.”

About Smokers:

I used to smoke two packs a day and I just hate being a nonsmoker... but I will never consider myself a nonsmoker because I always find smokers the most interesting people at the table.”

About Adjusting to Fame:

“For me, getting comfortable with being famous was hard - that whole side of it, the loss of anonymity, the loss of privacy. Giving up that part of your life and not having control of it.”

About Being Prepared:

“I like being prepared. When things are going on and I have to learn my lines at the last minute, I'm never quite secure enough to allow it to be spontaneous. So the more prepared I am, the more I'm able to kind of let it go . . .”

Apart from Stardust I don't think I recognize Michelle from any other films but I will look out for her in the future.

Monthly Song Obsession: Evacuate the Dancefloor

A new feature it seems will be a monthly song obsession, cause there's always a song you just can't get out of your head. This month I have been struck by a new phenomena. The number one hit song by Cascada titled Evacuate the Dancefloor. I didn't really like it all to begin with but it grew on me fast. The song is very catchy with an amazing beat with lyrics I just can't seem to stop singing. And after listening to it about 50 times I instantly went and bought it on itunes yet still can't stop listening.

Here are the lyrics:

Turn up the music
Let's get out on the floor
I like to move it
Come and give me some more
Watch me getting physical, out of control
There's people watching me
I never miss a beat

Steal the night
Kill the lights
Feel it under your skin
Time is right
Keep it tight
Cos it's pulling you in
Wrap it up
Can't stop cos it feels like a overdose
(Feels like an overdose)

Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ let the music take me underground

(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ come burn this place right down to the ground

My body's aching
System overload
Temperature's rising
I'm about to explode
Watch me I'm intoxicated
Taking the show
It got me hypnotized
Everybody step aside

Steal the night
Kill the lights
Feel it under your skin
Time is right
Keep it tight
Cos it's pulling you in
Wrap it up
Can't stop cos it feels like a overdose
(Feels like an overdose)

Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ let the music take me underground

(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ come burn this place right down to the ground

Come on and evacuate
Feel the clubbers heating up
Move on and accelerate
Push it to the top
Come on and evacuate
Feel the clubbers heating up
Move on and accelerate
You don't have to be afraid

Now guess who's back with a brand new track
That got everybody in the club going mad
So everybody in the back get your back up on the wall
And just shake that thang
Go crazy, yo lady, yo baby
Let me see you work that thang
Now drop it down low, low
Let me see you take it to the dancefloor, yo

(Everybody in the club!)
Evacuate the dancefloor
(Everybody in the club!)
I'm infected by the sound
(Everybody in the club!)
Stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ let the music take me underground

Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ let the music take me underground

(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, evacuate the dancefloor
Oh, oh, I'm infected by the sound
(Everybody in the club!)
Oh, oh, stop, this beat is killing me
Hey Mister DJ come burn this place right down to the ground

I still can't manage to put videos onto the blog so a link will have to surfice. It is just the song and not the video just the now 73 album cover.

The Gossip Girl season finale

Life has ended this week on Wednesday 22nd of July with the final episode of the second season of Gossip Girl. Everything now seems meaningless without it :(.

After Gossip Girl sends out a damaging blast at the graduation Serena vows to take her down and starts rallying her forces. Rufus & Lily work out there issuses and to the relief of all the GG fans in the world so do Chuck and Blair! While other people's story lines come to fab endings Serena's vendetta is quite the opposite as Gossip Girl outsmarts her on every turn and when S digs deeper she releases every gossip blast she has, damaging everyone. Major scandal! She tells our beloved UESers that she is nothing without them and as she has no gossip left to reveal they've all got a clean slate... untill college! That's right guys she's going with them, and I simply can't wait. Bring on season 3!

Rufus finally proposes to Lily and the Humphreys move in with the Van Der Woodsens. Lets just hope Lil wont be moving onto the 6th husband anytime soon.

Rufus Lily!

The episode ends with the union of everyone's most anticipated couple Blair and Chuck! The fans have shipped this from Victor Victrola and they finally get what they've been waiting for. After a painstaking time apart they both find the courage to tell the other how they feel in a heartwarming conclusion to the second season of GG!

Chuck: You were right. I was a coward running away again, but everywhere I went, you caught up with me. So I had to come back.
Blair: I want to believe you, but I can't. You hurt me too many times.
Chuck: You can believe me this time.
Blair: Oh. That's it?
Chuck: I love you too.
Blair: But can you say it twice? No i'm serious, say it twice!
Chuck: I love you, I love you, that's three, four, I love you.

You know you love it XOXO Gossip Girl

Personal Affairs series Finale Quick Runthrough

Since I don't have time to do a full recap of the brilliant Personal Affairs series finale. I'm going to quickly review it and maybe touch it up later with some pictures.

The episode carried on from the previous weeks cliffhanger with Crawford (the Charles Dickens man) holding the four PAs and Simon hostage in an office. Midge is shot in the arm and Crawford is quickly taken down and arrested.

While this is happening Grace darling finally returns to the bank, and the shocking truth begins to reveal itself. Simon is not Adam Hartman and when you find out who he really is, it's a real OMG NO WAY! moment. Talk about plot twists. That wasn't the last of it though, with this huge secret revealed, everything fell into it's unusual and sometimes rather twisted place.

During the course of the episode Nichole finally ends her relationship with the complete jerk she's been sleeping with. I despise him so much I can't even remember his name. Bob and Lucy rekindle their relationship even after he cheated, it's a shame Lucy didn't find out it was Nichole he slept with. It would have been good to see her get mad at Nichole ah well maybe next season if there is one.

And just when you thought there wasn't anything left they could do, they added an incredibly depressing ending which I didn't see coming either but when I realised what was about to happen I could feel myself urging her not to do it :( . The episode ends with Grace being forgiven by the PAs and returning to work, Dorris and Rock fall in love and Rock's family arrive from Texas. What could this mean for Hartmann Payne?

Half Blood Prince wins at life. Full stop.

Hey'all! Cat here (for once, shush. i haz ninja skeelz!)

So, if you haven't seen Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince yet...
WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!?!?
It rocks everyone's socks off with its wizard-osity and teenage angst. Everyone kicks butt in the film - apart from Mr Potter himself, who would make a suitable partner for moan queen herself Isabella Swan. Sad really.

So if you don't know what happens, it's basically a big sexy rave fest with Ron, Malfoy and Cormac McLaggen (who is too hot that it's not actually legal, fo shiz) although Blaise Zabini is pretty awesomesauce aussi.
There's also a few euphemisms that me and my buddy Hatty noticed when we watched the film - such as 'Get out your wand!' and 'I've got a good feeling about Hagrid!' Then there were some totally random moments that made us LOL such as 'Look for my owl!' and Professor Slughorn's delightful account of Lily Potter's fish.
.........
That's what went on in my head, anyway!
Oh yeah, and SEVERUS SNAPE IS TEH OWNAGE OF TEH FILMZ Y'KNOWZ!!!!! (:
He is so awesome, you should like, bottle his awesomeness and sell it.

Ron, get your hands off slaggy Lavender and get together with Hermione - NOW!

CORmac McLaggen should not be allowed to be THAT hot. Seriously - he's such a dick. *fangirl giggles* The character I mean, of course... ;)

Malfoy's SO COOOOOOOOOL, he's like the new Harry, for realz! (: All full of angst and lovely sexy brooding.

OHMYGOD IT'S LUNA! She was so disgracefully not put into very much of the film, but she was still incredibly awesome with her bang on trend sunnies!
